Last month, we announced that we would participate in the Couture & Cars Fashion Show in Tacoma, WA. We were honored to share the stage with four other designers -- Akrofi Adjumani, Gustavo Apiti Couture, MiMi Wolfe and The Brin Project by Reshma -- and thrilled with the turnout at our showing.
We debuted 14 traditional bridal gowns and 10 Vietnamese-style gowns custom-made and hand-altered to fit 24 stunning models, including some beautiful autumnal styles. For those who missed it, here are some of our favorite looks:
These striking colorful dresses showcase our designer’s signature floral lace overlays and her fondness for burgundy shades. We love the trailing vine motif on romantic, sweeping train.
The Katerina dress is a fresh take on the mermaid silhouette, starting with the radiant canary yellow. Fitted from the bust to the thighs and low-cut in the back, this ends with layers of voluminous, cascading organza for a gradient color effect. We love this look at a glamorous formal occasion or a second dress at a spring wedding.
Darya and Stella are all traditional bridal dresses with a twist. This collection, we’ve added unorthodox style touches like ostrich feather trim and sequined mesh. We love the drama of the sheer mermaid gown, center, from the Swarovski-embellished cape to the romantic transition from hand-placed lace to sweeping tulle skirt.
These dresses are all from our traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai collection. Alise, Ciara, and Ina all show off our designer’s penchant for melding Eastern and Western styles, drawing inspiration from the Ao Dai’s base silhouette and modernizing it with illusion tulle and scrollwork lace motifs.
The Alana flaunts what Dream Dresses does best: striking colors, metallic lace embellishments, and a dramatic yet oh-so-feminine silhouette. We absolutely love the drama that the trailing sleeves add to the train of our gown, as well as the lace framing of the elegant keyhole back.
To round out our review, here are some of our most iconic and show stopping styles. These designs are all exemplifiers of our designer’s modern style, and involve a huge amount of technical expertise, including precise hand-applied lace, illusion tulle, and impeccable tailoring.
A huge thank you to those who made this fashion show possible -- the organizers Fashion District NW, photographer Tim Lawrence, and Gene Juarez Salons & Spas for makeup. If you’ve fallen in love with any of designs, we’d love for you to get in touch with our designer and start exploring options for your own dream dress.
